The Mom’s Club is sponsoring a program for
teen mothers called Hope House of Colorado

Beginning in 2012, UPMC has decided to provide support to the non-profit Hope House of Colorado. This organization's mission is to empower teenage moms to strive for personal and economic self-sufficiency. They provide education, support and counseling to teen mothers through their mentoring, GED and residential programs. We feel that the best asset of UPMC is our strong sense of community, so our support of Hope House will focus primarily in extending our community to include these young mothers. In addition, we will help provide supplies for their pantry through drives like our "Stuff the Trailer" efforts this past December. We invite you to learn more about Hope House and its programs by visiting their website at www.HopeHouseofColorado.org.

The gifts that were brought for Veronica (the Mom from Hope House) were perfect! Super cute things: adorable comforter, frames, cute jeans, cute shirts, pajamas, nail polish, lotions and more.... we wrapped everything for her and will deliver them today as they have their party tonight! I am sure she will feel extra special!
We also received excellent donation for their supply closet, but we can still accept more items. Hope House is in the process of moving to a bigger location so we need to wait to deliver the supply closet items. If you would still like to donate to their supply closet you may drop off items at my home 1910 S. Fillmore Street (just North of Evans) you may leave them on the porch. Items still needed are toiletry items for Mom, baby food, diapers, baby lotions, and grocery store gifts card. Visit their website to learn more about Hope House!
Thank you all for your generosity and love shown to the young Mom's at Hope House.

The Mom'preneur Marketplace was just excellent this year! The day included perfect weather, over 50 vendors selling great things, Dad's cooking hot dogs, Mom's Club members selling burritos and ice tea, a live band, a huge carnival with 3 bouncy houses and tons of cute carnival games with prizes, face painting, balloon artist and more. Plus the one mile Fun Run around Observatory Park and back. University Park Elementary School organizes and puts on the Fun Run and Carnival and our club does the Mom'preneur Marketplace, Raffle and the Burrito Mama's Stand. It's a true collaborative effort! We raised over $5600 for UPark Elementary School! We gave out close to 300 goodie bags full of treats and coupons from neighboring businesses. What special community day it was!

Monday, May 28, 4:30 pm till 6:30 pm Family Dinner Potluck & Park Clean Up at Observatory Park
Thank you to all who turned out to care for our playground on Monday! We repaired our toy bin, threw out broken toys, replenished some, the Dads turned over the sand, and did a general clean up. As you can see it looks great! We have put a request into the city for a refresh on mulch and sand. When your at the play ground please feel free to throw away any broken or unsafe toys. Have children return toys to the bin when you leave- one for each year they are old can work. We love having toys there but will need to maintain and be mindful so we can keep this privilege from the city. Also a special thank you to Garlic Knot for donating pizzas and awesome knots for all of us. The potluck was delicious- we certainly have some cooks in our group!
