University Park Mothers Club

Dear University Park Mom:

Well aren’t we getting fancy!  Welcome to our new club newsletter What’s UP Moms?. This new format replaces our past emails.

While the club grows and becomes more technologically advanced, we don’t want to lose the laid back, member driven feel to the club.   Please help make the club what YOU want it to be.

We discovered that Yahoo Groups has a polling feature.  So, we thought we would try it out.  In order to participate, you will need to have joined Yahoo Groups.  To join, simply go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/uparkmoms/.

Please let me know what you think of the “news”.  The last thing I want to do is clutter your email with stuff you don’t want.

Lastly, not only did Amy Homburger create the winning costume at the Halloween party, she came up with the name for the newsletter.  Thanks Amy!

Regards,
Jennifer

Around UPark

  • We (UPMC) inquired about making improvements to the surface material at Observatory Park playground and more toddler-friendly play equipment.  Parks/Rec Dept. tells us that this area is due for major work thanks to bond issue funds.  Community input will be included; however, this project will not begin for at least a year.
  • Work has begun on the land along Historic Buchtel Boulevard Trail, which was designated to be a Prairie Park.  Plans include a nature walk.
  • Renovations to Chamberlin Observatory are nearing completion

For more information on Around UP, visit the University Park Community Council at www.upcc.us.
